2015 Chapter Meetings

December 6th, 2015 - Holiday Chapter Meeting

 This meeting was hosted at Frye Art Museum. White elephant holiday gift and book exchange and exploration of art exhibit. 

October 4th, 2015  - "Art Therapy Awareness Day"

This meeting was hosted at ArtiFact Gallery. Schedule of Events:
2-4 pm “A Visual Exploration of Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue” ,       Presented by Jennifer Harkness, MA, LMHC, ATR (2 CEUs free for EATA members or $30 for non-members)
4-5 pm Film “Art Saves Lives Stories” with a discussion and art directive with the Producer, Sharon Sanborn, MA, LMFT, ATR-BC
5-7 pm Enjoy snacks, mingling, a juried art show and silent auction featuring work from “The Art Therapist’s Palette: The Many Expressions of Art Therapy”, an EATA member art show.

August 2nd, 2015 - EATA Annual Community Picnic and Chapter Meeting

This friends and family community pinic/potluck/eco-art making meeting was hosted at Lincoln Park.

June 7th, 2015 - "Out of the Box Approaches in Therapy"

In partnership with Under the Umbrella Therapy & Learning Collective, to learn about about unique therapeutic approaches from these amazing panelists:

Rogene West, PhD ~ Neurofeedback Practitioner,
Laura Humpf, MA ~ Yoga Therapist,
Heather Bierman, MA ~ Eco-Art Therapist, and
Laura Worthen, MS ~ Speech Language Pathologist @ Under the Umbrella.

April 12th, 2015  - "Spring Art Party."

Presented by Cathy Malchiodi, PhD, Leading international expert, syndicated writer, and educator in the fields of art therapy and art in healthcare
 
October 26, 2014 -“Healing Arts Tool Kit: Expressive Arts for Trauma Recovery.”
Presented by Ruth Yeo-Peterman, MA, LMHC, a mental health counselor and performing artist who believes in the power of the arts in all its forms - for expression and reflection, inspiring hope and healing, building connection, and creating possibilities for growth and change. Over the past 13 years, Ruth has worked with various populations in South Africa and the US; these include community based mental health, school counseling, and diversion and rehabilitation programs. Ruth is a community arts consultant with Silver Kite Community Arts Consulting and performs as a playback theater artist in Seattle.
